The theme of the 2012 ISAG conference is "Quantitative Genetics Meets Molecular Genetics", and as always, the meeting will focus on the genomics of economically important and domesticated animal species. There will be a number of invited plenary speakers in addition to the traditional workshops (see preliminary program and list of plenary speakers). The workshops will include invited speakers as well as those chosen based on the poster abstracts. The list of workshops appears on the second page of the preliminary program.

There will be three posters sessions during lunch on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday with plenty of time to visit with the authors. The posters will be on display throughout the conference for perusal.

This year, there will also be a break in the middle of the conference on Wednesday so that our international delegates can relax, recoup and enjoy the wonders that Cairns has to offer visitors.

Note that currently, the scientific program is a draft version and that the timing of specific workshops is subject to change. However, the dates and the length of program will not change so that delegates can make their travel arrangements. More details regarding the plenary sessions and the workshops will be released on a regular basis as well as updates of the scientific program.

Workshops are an integral part of the ISAG conferences and provide a unique opportunity for participants to interact. We would like to ensure that the workshops are as interesting and engaging as possible. We would also like to ensure that the workshops are a forum for participants to discuss topics relevant to their research or business (eg planning sequencing projects, comparison tests, etc). Therefore, we encourage participants to contact the relevant workshop chairs with ideas and any discussion topics of interest. This is your meeting!
